Naomi & Tims Perfect Day

Naomi & Tims Perfect Day

Naomi & Tims Perfect Day

We arranged to meet for coffee and after an excited chat from us both I was delighted that Naomi (who I was to now call Nim as all her friends do) selected me to capture their wedding!

As part of the package it included an engagement shoot which Nim asked if we could do at Lower Slaughter where Tim proposed to her. So in one lovely July afternoon later (and by “lovely” I mean “changeable weather”) in just over an hour we snapped some great moments, and most importantly gave Nim & Tim (the amusement in rhyming names isn’t lost on them) a bit of experience in front of the camera, making it one less unknown on their wedding day! We also had a chat in the pub and got to know each other a little better, which I believe is so important in allowing me to capture people at their most natural, and telling the full story by knowing what has gone before in their lives

As always the day itself came around quicker than anyone expected, and I had the most fantastic time. Cambray Baptist Church provides amazing vantage points for a photographer! As you can see from the highlights below, I could get pretty much every angle, and produced a set of church photos that looks like it was snapped by 3 photographers not just 1!

We then headed off to one of my nearby secret hilltop locations to get some shots of Nim and Tim away from it all, and then quickly on to the reception at Winchcombe School.

After a delicious Nigerian influenced meal and the speeches it was time for dancing, but with a slight twist as everyone donned Nigerian outfits in honour of Nim’s Nigerian heritage. So much fun and even after 11 hours of shooting I was on the dance floor cutting some shapes with my camera in tow! I hope you enjoy the pics!

For the camera geeks, this wedding was shot with a Sony A99ii and for the first time my new Sony A7S. My usual lens arsenal of 14mm F2.8, 24-70 F2.8, 50mm F1.4 and 80-200 F2.8 were used, with flash only for the dancing with a mix of on camera and off camera flash.
